Cologne(The art of fragrance)

12:29 AM
Choosing a cologne is not a task to take lightly. Much like choosing the proper suit, a cologne must fit you and your lifestyle. When it comes to knowing how to pick a cologne, choose a base scent you feel comfortable wearing. Almost every cologne designed for men is based on a strong note of musk, sandalwood or citrus, which provides the foundation for lighter notes of spice and floral options. Finding the right combination to complement your lifestyle enhances your presence in the room or group and often makes a better first impression than any handshake.

Cologne dos

  • Try before you by.
  • Reapply if you have dry skin.
  • Apply after a hot shower.

Cologne don’ts

  • Douse.
  • Use scented soaps.
  • Think one scent is enough.
  • Wait around  (habit of hoarding unopened cologne bottles for use at a later date.)
Being a man is a complicated existence, but these colognes give you a touchstone of what you ought to be. They are unwavering in their presence yet quietly stoic through base notes of wood and earth. This type of scent is a throwback, if you will, to a time when being a man’s man meant something.

This are My Best Colognes.

The Ultimate Modern Haute Horlogerie Watch

4:41 PM

MB&F HM4 Thunderbolt

Roll up your sleeve while wearing the HM4 and the last thing it resembles is a wristwatch. Sitting across the wrist are two titanium cylinders, like jet engines. At the inboard side of the left cylinder is a power reserve meter that displays how many of the watch’s 72 hours are left before it requires hand winding. The right cylinder is the dial, with numerals, markers and hands not unlike a World War II pilot’s watch. On the outboard side of each cylinder is a crown. The left one winds the movement and the right one is used to set the time. Both cylinders are connected to each other at the middle by a bridge made of a single piece of sapphire through which you can observe the movement. The short answer is that this is not a traditional timepiece.

If you bought an HM4, and they are in limited supply, the odds of seeing anyone else wearing one. With its avant-garde design, state-of-the-art technology and polarizing looks, MB&F’s Horological Machine No. 4 meets all of our criteria and we name it our ultimate modern haute horlogerie watch. At least until Horological Machine No. 5 is released. Then this one will be old news.

It’s $158,000. (USD)

“Modern” is a little trickier to define, whether you’re talking about art, architecture or wristwatches. Modernism really is about stepping away from the traditions of the past and going in a new direction in a spirit of experimentation

 Modern haute horlogerie is like modern art or pornography; it’s hard to describe, but you’ll know it when you see it.

The New Classics (White Shirts)

12:25 AM
Unlike fashion, the elements of men's style remain constant. After all, there's a reason why the two-button suit is deemed a "classic" -- it operates under the assumption that if it looked impressive on Cary Grant some 70 years ago, that it should, in theory, look good on you today and on your grandson down the sartorial road.

The New Classics. Whether it's your dress watch, white shirt, navy blazer, or blue jeans, take notes and get ready to refine.

TS Antique White Oxford

The antique white oxford from Taylor Stitch is a little more real than your average white oxford. The shade isn’t as pearly white as you’ll see from other brands producing white shirts, coming prefaded and ready to wear to either a cocktail party or pig roast. It is cut shorter and tighter for a more tapered look, and doesn’t have any pleats on the sleeve or back to make ironing as easy as possible. This is the new, great American oxford.

American Apparel Pinpoint Oxford

American Apparel has taken heat for being a hipster black hole. The pinpoint oxford is a classic button-down white shirt with a slim, modern cut best worn on its own with jeans or with a casual blazer.

Seize Sur Vingt MLX JFK Shirt

Men’s tailored buttondown shirt. White solid. This model is a slim fit with clean lines and appearance. This shirt is made from 100% Egyptian Giza Cotton woven in Italy. Single needle stitch construction with gentle scallop tail, split yoke shoulders, front placket and Mother of Pearl buttons. Made in Portugal and Italy. Best selling classic men’s long sleeve shirt.

 Theory Marco P Dress Shirt

Theory's white shirt is a must-have basic for any wardrobe, whether your style veers toward preppy or punk. In fact, it's so versatile you'll want to stock up on this model because you'll end up wearing it on a near daily basis. Worn alone, it's stunning -- the kind of shirt that will make women look twice when you walk down the street. It's also the perfect base layer for pairing underneath cardigans, blazers, and cropped or long jackets. And because it's such a classic, it makes pulling off a trendy item or two in your ensemble much easier.

 Lost in the fog? Not to worry, expert team of fashion will guide us through...

How To Wear A T-Shirt

9:25 PM

Def Style's 6 Ways To Wear A T-Shirt.

Like a pair of jeans, the humble T-shirt is the must have item of a man’s wardrob, they are the building blocks that you can take in any direction you please, dressing them up or down depending on the occasion. Whether they’re timeless or trendy, to find out which T-shirts should be in our wardrobe right now.

1.The polo T-shirt
Wear it with: White trousers in the summer and your own accessories. Once upon a time, polo shirts were the domain of golfers and prepsters. Everything changed when successful advertising campaigns by companies like Ralph Lauren and Lacoste made us all realize how incredibly versatile this piece was. No matter what your style, a polo will be a useful addition to your wardrobe that you’ll be able to adapt to your unique look.

2.The nautical tee
Wear it with: It’s stunning with white, so dress it up with a white blazer or keep it casual with cotton shorts. The nautical tee successfully combines fashion with function. Whether you’re down at the docks or chilling on a yacht, a nautical tee will stand you in good stead. Like this long-sleeved model from Ralph Lauren, you’ll want to get yours in lightweight cotton, which can be thrown straight into the wash in order to maximize its usage. Even if you don’t have a perfect physique, don’t be put off by wearing horizontal stripes as these are some of the most flattering lines you’ll ever come across.

3.The graphic T-shirt
Wear it with: Make a graphic statement by mixing this T-shirt with gray jeans or corduroys, and throw on a blazer for funky, fuss-free style on a wild night out. Having made a major impact on the T-shirt market when it first appeared, the graphic tee remains a wardrobe must-have for stylish men from Johannesburg to Jacksonville to Kuala Lumpur.
4.The sports T-shirt
Wear it with: Slim fitting jeans and canvas sneakers. While you can’t get away with wearing your favorite player’s jersey on a regular basis as it’s neither acceptable office wear nor particularly stylish, you can show your love for the game at work by playing with a carefully chosen sports tee.
5.The deep V-neck T-shirt
Wear it with: Blazers make it smarter, cuffed denim keeps it casual and layering a cardigan over it takes it into fall. While a V-shaped neckline is never really outdated, you can increase the style quotient of your ensemble by choosing a tee with a deep V-neck rather than the standard collarbone length style. It's seasonless and will slim a less-than-ideal shape, making it appear more masculine. At the same time, the neckline isn’t so low that you’ll feel cheesy in it.
6.The granddad T-shirt
Wear it with: Denim or pressed cotton pants. In colder months, layer it underneath a plaid shirt to try out the American revival trend. Essentially a short-sleeve Henley, the granddad tee is reminiscent of those long-sleeve thermals your old man’s old man wore. This dark-navy option from G-Star is cut to skim the body and show off a gym-toned physique to its full advantage without being skin tight.
You probably wear them so often you barely think about them, but the introduction of the T-shirt initiated a style revolution, just think about what it did for stars like James Dean and Steve McQueen and its power will become crystal clear.

Drink Of The Month: Hemingway Daiquiri

12:06 AM
Hemingway Daiquiri

The daiquirí was one of the favorite drinks of writer Ernest Hemingway and president John F. Kennedy. Hemingway was a thirsty guy, make no mistake. And although he probably put away booze of all levels of quality, given the omnivorous nature of his appetite, he did have some noted favorites about which he was pretty particular. This drink is one of them.

History has it that the Hemingway Daiquiri, also known as the Papa Doble, was concocted during his time living in Havana, Cuba, by Constantino Ribalaigua, who tended bar at El Floridita. Hemingway probably drank his without the sugar, but we are including it in this recipe since most people like a little sweetness in this strong cocktail.

“Daiquiri” means a frozen, brightly colored fruit-and-booze slurry sucked out of a Styrofoam cup while stumbling around Bourbon Street, well, this isn’t the same thing. This is a lightly sweetened cocktail served in a Martini glass and put away like a man who knows how to hold his liquor...

The recipe calls for maraschino liqueur, made from cherries. A bottle of Luxardo maraschino liqueur will last for a long time in your liquor cabinet, but there are a handful of excellent cocktails that call for it, and it’s a very distinctive flavor that’s worth having available to you. If it was good enough for Papa, it damn well better be good enough for you.

2 oz White Rum
.75 oz Lime Juice
1 tsp Maraschino
1 tsp Grapefruit Juice
1 tsp Sugar

Shake with ice and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.  Serve frappe.

Build all ingredients over crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Give it a quick, sharp shake or two and pour into the Collins glass. Garnish with part of a spent lime shell.

M e t r o s e x u a l

4:04 PM
M e t r o s e x u a l is quite a capacious term. Others you may not have heard seem to zero in on one or a few aspects of the male persona.

The newly popular media and marketing buzzword seems to mean different things to different people, but in general, a Metrosexual :

  • is a modern, usually single man in touch with himself and his feminine side;
  • grooms and buffs his head and body, which he drapes in fashionable clothing both at work or before hitting an evening hotspot;
  • has discretionary income to stay up to date with the latest hairstyles, the newest threads, and the right shaped shoes;
  • confuses some guys when it comes to his sexuality;
  • makes these same guys jealous of his success with the ladies -- for many metros, to interact with women is to flirt;
  • impresses the women who enjoy his company with the details that make the man;
  • Among them:
    • his flair for cooking
    • his savoir faire in choosing the perfect wine and music
    • his eye for interior design
  • is a city boy or, if living a commute away from downtown, is still urbane, if not rightly urban;
  • enjoys reading men's magazines...

Metrosexual is not Gay

Some of the most commonly labeled metrosexual prototypes include English soccer star David Beckham and screen icons Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman and Tom Cruise. All these men are as much models as they are sports stars or actors, welcoming the not-so-furtive female gazes like the walking billboards they've become.

In the end, if you've read this article to this point, then you're probably curious enough about the phenomenon to qualify as a metrosexual. Now, is that worth poppin' some guy in the mouth for?

Please refer this sites if you got any questions about Metrosexual.

A Well-Dressed Man.

3:10 PM
What’s his secret? The well-dressed man! Funny thing is, there are no secrets here! only signs. And they all point toward the well-dressed man. I have listed 10 signs of a well dressed man. A guidance perhaps.

No10- Proper brogues

Dingy, dirty shoes can make even the finest suit look, well, not so fine. Plain and simple, a freshly shined pair can spruce up even the most mediocre digs. Polish shoes in regular rotation about once a week, because they’re quite literally a reflection of my self.

No9- Cut and coiffed

Overgrown? Jersey-gelled? Waiting too long between cuts or, worse, plastering on the putty is the quickest way to go from dapper to douchebag. I'll seek my stylist every three to four weeks and go easy on the product. These are two rules that coif-conscious men follow religiously.

No8- Tailor-made

No matter what my closet contains, luxe labels, fine fabrics, the newest trends, it doesn’t mean much without a flawless fit. And that piece of advice isn’t reserved for a custom collection of suits and sport coats. And there is only way to know if the cut is right: always try before you buy.

No7- Color coordinated

Somewhere along the line say, after school, I have developed an eye for harmonizing hues. If i were left back a few grades in the dressing department, though, remember that colors should complement but never be matchy-matchy. In fact, feel free to experiment by contrasting colors in the most unexpected places.. like a pair of pink socks with even the subtlest of suits.

No6- Understated Elegance

It shouldn’t take a rainbow of Robert Graham button-downs, Ed Hardy shirts and a Louis V's-worth of jewelry to get you noticed. Then again, fading into background isn’t the answer either. The compromise? Wear one piece that says something (it can be anything from a blazer to a bracelet) and let the rest play a supporting role. In the end, your attire and accessories should make a statement, not put on a show.

No5- Vintage finds

Few men are fortunate enough to have a heap of valuable hand-me-downs; that’s where second hand shopping comes in. We’re not talking about Salvation Army-style dumpster diving for clothing by-the-pound. This is high end haberdashery at its best: think vintage watches and old school designer duds. They’re not always easy to find, but once i do come across them, i’ll never want to let go.

No4- Signature scent

Having an army of aromas isn’t just a waste of money, it’s downright olfactorily offensive. Men need, at most, just two fragrances. One should be lighter for daytime and warmer weather; the other more robust for nights and scent crushing colder temps. With proper application (a spritz behind the ears and on the wrists), both will become a part of me, rather than prematurely announcing your arrival.

No3- Pocket protection

Somewhere along the line, men forgot about the little things in life, like the all-important pocket square. Use it with a tux or dress up a denim-sport coat combo. The key, as i’ve already learned, is to mix rather than match. Employ the flat fold (look it up), and i’ll soon realize that the hanky is a minor detail with major impact.

No2- See clearly

We’re not all blessed with natural 20/20. So, if you’re holding off on going under the knife and your stash of contacts isn’t cutting it, good-old eyeglasses are your only option. And when it comes to specs, go bold or go home. Sure, they should always fit your face and it may take 30-plus pairs to find ones that do, but make certain they speak with the sureness of geek chic plastic or some angular metal.

No1- Confidence

Confidence- one word says it all. Without a little swagger in your step, nothing else matters.

Touchtronic

Introduced as an alternative to the standard six-speed manual gearbox, DBS customers will now be afforded the option of the ‘Touchtronic 2’ six-speed automatic transmission. Derived from the same ZF transaxle unit that was developed for the DB9, the system has been substantially re-engineered to accommodate the power and performance characteristics of the DBS.
The DBS Touchtronic transmission features a final drive ratio shortened from 3.15:1 to 3.46:1, aiding quicker acceleration times and an improved performance feel. Additionally, changes to the gearbox calibration aid more aggressive gear shifts and greater usability, while retaining the performance potential of the manual gear box – matching the 0-60mph (0-100km/h) time of 4.3 seconds. System functionality is consistent with that on the DB9, with ‘Park’, ‘Reverse’, ‘Neutral’ and ‘Drive’ modes selected via facia mounted controls.
